I have coached football and softball for years now and I am trying my
hand at girls basketball this season. I am coaching a freshman team
that has lost their 2 best players, the center and point guard, to the
reserve team so they need to step up and be leaders and have
confidence in themselves without their former teammates. How can I
help them build the confidence that they need to show them that they
can win without the other 2 players because basketball, like most
s****ts, is a team s****t. They have always relied on those 2 to help
and step up and now they need to do the stepping up. I have noticed
it in a couple of them, but they still relapse into hoping the other
players will step up instead of them having to. Any suggestions?
