1996:Best Draft Ever

by umo <shoreke@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 6, 2008 at 10:40 AM

In retrospect, the 1996 NBA draft was the greatest ever. That draft
was so deep, Kobe Bryant was the 13th player chosen. Makes you wonder
why the NBA prohibits guys from entering the draft directly after high
school since each team always enjoyed the option to not draft a high
school kid if they determined he was not ready.

Anyway, the 1996 draft produced a bunch of future Hall of Famers like
Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, Ray Allen, Marcus Camby,
Jermaine O'Neal, Zydrunas Ilgauskas. The class of 1996 gave us
perrenial All Stars Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Antoine Walker, Stephon
Marbury. In addition, solid 10 year pros Derek Fisher, Tony Delk,
Othella Harrington, Malik Rose, Drew Barry, Samaki Walker, Kerry
Kittles, Vitaly Potapenko, Jeff McInnis, Walter McCarty, Predrag
Stojakovi=E6 were drafted in 1996.
