You are forgetting that David Stern may
be the man behind the curtain. AYK, a
successful team, whose home is MSG,
is in the best interests of the League.
AYK, Isaiah not only has messed up in his
capacities running the team, but the lawsuit,
he caused, has embarrassed the League and
shamed the Knicks.
Although I am unfamiliar with League
rules and policies, I do know that the
previous worst blow to the League in
recent years was when players climbed
into the stands, prompting a dress code,
etc.
As bad as running into the stands may
have been, it was not premeditated. If
the Commissioner does have powers to
act in the League's best interests, there
is a slam-dunk case to take the franchise
away from Dolan, which can be a motivating
factor for an owner.
