Isiah Thomas has a disastrous win-loss ledger to rival Larry Brown¹s, with
all of the attendant controversy and confusion. So it seems only natural
that Thomas, like Brown before him, now finds himself trapped in a
minefield
of uncertainty, awkwardness and speculation. Impromptu roadside interviews
could be in his near future.
Lovin' it.
Two people close to Walsh ‹ neither of whom wanted to be quoted
speculating
on his intentions ‹ said they would not be surprised if Walsh kept Thomas
as
general manager. Walsh would still have final authority on all personnel
decisions, while Thomas would be relegated to a more advisory role.
Such an arrangement would allow Dolan, who gave Thomas a contract
extension
only a year ago, to save face after years of defending Thomas. And it
would
provide Thomas a graceful way to leave the bench and pull away from the
news
media spotlight while attempting to rehabilitate his professional
reputation.
Eff Walsh.
