At some level, you wish Wright would be more remorseful. You wish he
understood how it all sounded to the average fan.
But the guy has never been one to back down. It's one reason he's lasted a
decade in the league.
He doesn't back down from Shaq. He isn't backing down now.
He also isn't going to pout, or invent phantom injuries, or do anything
less
than his best.
"I'm going to be the same guy I've always been," he said. "I don't know
any
other way. If anything, it's going to motivate me to work harder. It's not
going to help me to come in and be a butthead, is it?"
The Heat will be in Memphis to open the season on Nov. 2. Barring
something
unexpected, get ready for Shaq vs. Wright.
"And if someone provokes me, I'm going to pray for them," he said. "I'm
not
going to cuss them or steal their pen."
