Lakers did not purposefully lose for playoff positioning

Anyone who thinks they went out and purposely tanked this game just so
they could play Memphis in the first round is crazy. The way Memphis
played the other night without Gasol and Wells makes me wonder if the
Lakers can even beat them in a 7 game series. If LA was truly thinking
about playoff positioning, wouldn't they still be gunning for the #1
seed so they could match up against a less talented team like Denver?
Also, why would they tank a game when they're still in the running for
best record in the west and home court advantage through the entire
playoffs?
The bottom line is that the Lakers didn't intentionally lose today, they
just got owned by the Queens. Kobe wanted to show GP that the team can't
win if he doesn't shoot the ball and I think he made his point. I'd
rather see him jack up 30 shots and score 30-35 points than take 5 shots
and score 4 points or whatever the hell he had today. Note to GP: it's
not your team so shut the hell up and let Kobe play his game! As far as
Shaq goes, I'm now convinced that he doesn't give a rat's ass about
anything but money, cars and bling bling. He constantly reminds everyone
that he's the most dominant player in the game, but apparently he
doesn't realize that he hasn't dominated a game in 2 years. He doesn't
care about winning the way great players like Jordan, Magic and Bird
did. He's a lazy, overpaid crybaby and I'm tired of his attitude.
I know this was only one game, but after watching their performance
today I'm pretty much convinced this team can't win a champion****p.
There are just too many issues hanging over them and I really don't know
if they can put it all past them and just play basketball. Bruised egos,
contract disputes, recent injuries(Grant, Fox and Rush) and the fact
that this is a group of people that really don't like each other adds up
to a team that will lose to San Antonio or Sacramento. So much for a
dream season!
