George is a pretty good defender. His offense has been stinking lately,
but he is not a bad defender. He seems to have never recovered from
his injury last year. I recall a game last year where he was put on a very
hot Tracy McGrady (20 points in 1 Qtr), and shut him down the rest
of the way. Like I said that was last year.

This trade is as much about the Nets wanting to get rid of Kidd as well
as Cuban wanting him too.

I'm on board with the trade, IF--IF the Mavs change their offense
somewhat. Kidd is most effective when several players are
funneling to the board. You can call it "cra****ng the boards,"
or "fini****ng." If the Mavs go sissy, and they all (Josh, Jett, and
Dirk) don't go in, and just settle behind the 3 point line waiting
for a pass from Kidd, then the trade will not help much. Kidd,
I believe will FORCE MOVEMENT by all players. Jett
never was, nor ever will be a point guard. He is a good shooter,
but the world's worst point guard. He is just awful there.
Avery, Avery, PLEEEZE take the ball out of Jett's and Stacks
hands. Just shoot, leave the ball handling to Kidd! I think
an athletic Bass will be one of the top beneficiaries of Kidd.

They say Kidd is old. However he is active and plays. Harris
is young, but he gets injured as much as an old man. What
good is his youth if he is always inactive?

The bad side? No Diop. I think the Mavs with the old
lineup was a better match for playing the Spurs. Harris
could counter Tony Parker, and Diop always seem to play well
against the Spurs. The refs always favor Duncan against
Damp. Damp could foul out in the 1st Qtr against big
centers. What now? I don't know anything about this
other guy coming from the Nets. Putting Dirk at the 5
will be another disaster as in prior years if they try
this on the defensive end.

The new line-up is a better match-up against the
Warriors, and the Suns (I think). Kidd is kind
of tough, and will not allow the Golden Staters
to push around the Mavs.
