I'm Done with the NBA:My Blog

by "opus007" <opus00777@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 19, 2007 at 03:08 AM

My Observations of the Playoffs:

I'm not a Suns fan and actually I'm not really an NBA fan but I decided to
give it a try this year. I always watch College Basketball and love all
teams from the ACC.

I learned several things watching the NBA Basketball this year. First -
unless you obtain a pass****t and buy a ticket to Europe - and actually use
it, you will never get called for travelling!

Second - the referees are so much better in College BB than in the NBA.
Well, maybe not better - the NBA referees are just more tolerant! I don't
know if they have an agenda from the league or if they just are oblivious.
They will call a foul at one end and just ignore an obvious foul at the
other end. It always seems to correspond with the score. It just seems
that their goal is to keep the game close.

Third - it seems inevitable - 1 team goes down by 20 and they are always
going to come back. I don't know how many games I watched this year where
this has happened. I know - this happens in college hoops also. 20-2
runs,
etc.

I think lastly what has made me the most angry is watching the Spurs and
Suns. Again, I love Football, Baseball and World Cup Soccer and I don't
know much about the Suns or the NBA but it seems to me the Spurs targeted
Steve Nash and they hoped for a reaction from Nash as well as the Suns
Bench. I may be wrong but it seemed to me the philosophy was - sacrifice
1
of our players for how many ever of theirs! I don't think anyone can
convince me that this wasn't the plan. Granted, the NBA has strict rules
about leaving the bench but when it is this obvious what the goal was -
well, Oh Mighty God Stern should have taken this into consideration. This
reminded me of the altercation between the Knicks and Nuggets earlier in
the
year. Hard foul at the end -ordered from the bench.

Just my opinoin - this was ordered from the bench to provoke a reaction
from
the Suns. His Majasty Stern reacted to this one but wouldn't react to the
previous infractions, etc. committed by the Spurs. What? Some Vegas money
on the Spurs in 6 at home?

Thanks and I'm done. I'm done blogging, I'm done complaining and I'm done
with the NBA! Seen enough to realize that I'm going to stick with NCAA
Basketball, College and Professional Football, FIFA and NASCAR (where we
all
know the rules are always applied fairly LOL :-}) .

Just for the record - I kind of like the Wizards because I live in VA and
get to see them often.
