the virtue of fresh young legs

by "Kurt Straub" <jkurtstraub@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 7, 2008 at 10:10 PM

The Sixers beat the Heat because they ran away from them in the 4th
quarter,
26-12.

Let's look at minutes. Sammy = 21, Green = 23, Evans = 26, Carney = 20,
Williams = 20. While the Sixers had five guys between 20 and 26 minutes,
the Heat had five guys over 33 minutes.

Sometimes basketball is a simple game. When you have fresh legs versus
tired legs in the the last quarter, ceteris paribus, the fresh legs are
going to win. Basically the same thing happened in the win over the
Wizards, where the Sixers just ran away from the Wiz in the 4th quarter.

Ever since Coach Cheeks started limiting Green's minutes, WG has been
effective offensively his entire time on the court. Reggie Evans' time
has
also been reduced, but he has responded well, like Green. Tonight he took

down 14 rebounds in 26 minutes, good grief. Reggie was running like a
young
buck out there. The reduced minutes for Evans and Green have meant more
time for Young and Carney, and those guys are running like the wind. They

are an absolute pleasure to watch fly down the court.
