Young

by Ian Kognitow <covanus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 15, 2007 at 07:54 AM

While I was very critical of it at the time, I've somewhat come around
to the drafting of Thaddeus Young. I personally thought that Julian
Wright--who was often projected higher than the Sixers pick--should
have been drafted. Probably at least 75% of mock drafts I saw had Al
Thornton going to the Sixers. Both of those guys were available when
the Sixers picked Young. Some of the stuff I have read since then made
me think the pick could work out: while I liked Wright's versatility
and passing, it's becoming more apparent that the Sixers really just
need the most pure talent out there, and that could eventually be
Young. And so the Sixers hope. Between his reputed skill set and
that he's supposedly smarter than most young players, he could develop
into something special. However, looking at the three players over
their last 2 games respectively, he still has some way to go to catch
up: Here are their lines for those games.

Young:
3-10fg, 9pts, 5reb, 2 stl, 4to, 27 min
2-7fg, 4pts, 3reb, 3to, 21 min

Thornton:
7-17fg, 18pts, 10 reb, 5to, 31 min
11-15fg, 24 pts, 5 reb, 4 to, 27 min

Wright:
3-7, 8pts,10 reb, 4ast, 3to, 26 min
1-2, 2pts,2 reb, 8 min
