It was an overtime win. From the box, I'm guessing the summer league
overtime is only two minutes long. No messin' around there!
Highlights:
Our starting missing guard, Rodney Carney, is actually starting to hit
some
shots. (7-13) Some things never change though. Tonight, you could count
his combined assists and rebounds not only with one hand, but with one
finger.
The Suns' stating PF, some guy named O. George, had 10 personal fouls in
32
minutes. Now that is some serious hacking. I wonder what the "O" stands
for, maybe Ouch? There is no truth to the rumor that his Sixer match-up,
Lou Amundson, finished the game with 10 welts.
Thaddeus Young, of whom I expected nothing this year, is surprisngly
showing some game. This time out, 20 points and 10 boards in 32 minutes, a
good night's work even in a rookie game.
More of the same from Lou Williams, who scored 23 pts in 35 minutes but
also
had *9* turnovers, sheeesh. The kid is looking more and more like a
shooting guard every day, which is going to cause problems for the Sixers.
D. J. Stawberry, Darryl's kid, is on the Suns, and showed that at least he
was a point guard, even if he couldn't guard Williams. DJ had 7 assists,
only 2 turnovers, and even dropped in 19 points.
Herbet Hill had 6 rebounds in 12 minutes, nice. Maybe he picked up one
or
two of those O-welts.
