As it turned out, I got home in time to see the entire second half of
this game. The 3rd quarter showed the Pistons getting back into the
game and playing the Cavs pretty tight even though the Pistons'
shooting was horrendous.
The 4th quarter was a real debacle. It seemed the only time the
Pistons played well was at the start of the 4th when Ratliff, Maxiell
and Stuckey were in the game. Chauncey, Rip and Rasheed all looked a
step slow last night. Rasheed's defense on Z was really lacking.
Prince did about as well as you can against Lebron, but it was the
other Cavs and the Pistons poor shooting that did them in.
I suppose being the second game in a row and 3rd in 5 days may have
had something to do with that. Having just run a marathon against the
Nuggets, they may have left a lot of points back in Detroit.
Pistons need to win the next two meetings against the Cavs if for
nothing more than a psychological uplift. I think they are still hung
over from last season's EC finals. They got he monkey off their back
by beating the Bulls, now they need to do the same to the Cavs.
