Getting to the NBA and being at then that level does not mean they were
not 
compeitive.
That NY culture has been trained into them the last several years.
Expecting losing on a bad team is one thing. The Mavs do not have that 
culture.

True and those are most often because they got into the game because they 
were big.
The guards were usually gym rats and had the will to win is the will to 
train road to the NBA.

Certainly not true of Dirk who wanted that game a lot.
